Funny how all these horrific rebrands of old or iconic logos are coming out now and all I’m trying to do is get back to what Saul Bass and his contemporaries were doing. Timeless, perfect marks.
Posted for being some Electro-assed ****! This is hot. João Oliveira got the skeels! Trust.
AK-47’s mean Communist revolution. ‘Cept this one has a book in place of the clip. Love me some Cuban poster art.
Love me some Cuban poster art. Much more out there than just Ché! From teh interwebz via someone else who stole it from the source.
Bastardgraphics knocking it out the box again!
Not Blue Note for sure, but definitely trying their hardest to bastardize the style. This was done in the 80’s hence the arrows and color choices. The standout is by far the shot of Art Blakey himself. Classic! No artist links since it was jacked from someone’s crappy blog post of the album. Seems like it’s hard to find on Amazon too.
Although probably more famous for “The Turnaround” album cover, I’m partial to this one because I’ve been humping the Turnaround since The Beatnuts jacked it back in ‘93 and two, I’m on a slab serif kick again. I would’ve linked to the Blue Note website, but it’s ****ing atrocious.
Herb Lubalin throwing down with some poster serifs. From Typogabor.com. Lots of tastiness throughout that site. If you don’t know who Herb is check out his Wiki post. Also see what he’s most famous for!
